Trustev wins SXSW for retail technology

Posted by Trustev on March 16, 2015

We’re excited to announce that Trustev has won the Decoded Fashion SXSW competition of 2015 for most disruptive retail technology. The competition, part of SXStyle at SXSW, was held to find the retail technology with the biggest business impact, and sponsored by the Simon Group, the world’s largest operator of retail real estate.

Among ten finalists, Trustev stood out for its ability to impact the retail industry in a positive way: boosting sales, reducing fraud costs, and allowing companies to expand e-commerce globally.

Expert judges Christa Allen of the Simon Group, Jonathan Shieber from TechCrunch, Josh Goldman of Norwest Ventures and Skyler Fernandes from the Simon Venture Group were especially impressed by the way Trustev makes it safe to accept transactions online from Brazil, Russia, India, China and other growing economies — where e-commerce has been hampered by fraud fears.

Following Trustev’s win, the first time an Irish company has ever won a SXSW competition for two years running, Taoiseach Enda Kenny, the Irish prime minister, referenced Trustev as an example of an Irish company succeeding in the US, as part of his visit to the SXSW festival.
